How It Works
From physical media to digital archive
Assess and Inventory
Every collection begins with a thorough condition assessment and item-level inventory. We document format types, quantities, physical condition and preservation priorities before any work begins.
Clean and Prepare
Legacy media requires careful physical preparation. Tapes are cleaned using professional equipment; film is inspected and prepared for scanning. Deteriorated or damaged items receive appropriate repair treatment.
Digitize and Restore
Source materials are digitized using format-appropriate playback equipment and capture systems. Where technically feasible, video and audio restoration is applied to improve the quality of the digital output.
Quality Control and Metadata
Every digitized file is reviewed against quality standards. Files are cataloged with descriptive metadata and organized according to the agreed naming and folder structure.
Secure Delivery and Preservation
Completed digital assets are delivered through the agreed method — hard drives, secure transfer or client-specified storage. Physical originals are returned with documented chain-of-custody records.
